Skybox Security Raises $6 Million in B Round

Round Led By Lightspeed Venture Partners And Was Joined By Existing Investors Benchmark Capital, Carmel Ventures and Mofet Technology Fund.

May 5, 2003 - Skybox Security Inc., a technology leader of corporate IT security risk assessment software, today announced it has secured $6 million in second round equity financing led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation by current investors Benchmark Capital, Carmel Ventures, and Mofet Technology Fund.

The funds will be used to build a strong sales and marketing infrastructure for the company’s products. The company is currently recruiting sales and marketing executives in the U.S., as well as other senior customer facing professionals. In addition, Ravi Mhatre, General Partner, Lightspeed Venture Partners, will join Skybox Security’s board of directors.

Skybox Security was founded by security experts Gidi Cohen - former CEO & co-founder of Vigil Technologies, Moshe Meiseles - former Senior VP Development of Memco (acquired by Computer Associates), and Eran Reshef - founder of Sanctum.
